“I have never seen a footballer like Kudus”, Nordsjælland boss Flemming Pedersen lauds his former pupil

Manager for FC Nordsjælland, Flemming Pedersen has lauded Kudus Mohammed.

Kudus Mohammed last month joined Ajax from Danish outfit Nordsjælland on a four year deal for a fee reported to be around €9m.

The 20-year-old has so far made a good impression at Ajax. However, Flemming Pedersen, who was the manager of Kudus at FC Nordsjaelland since he joined from Right to Dream academy at the age of 16 isn’t surprised of the player’s development.

“I knew immediately that we had an exceptional talent in house in him,” says Pedersen.

Kudus made an instant impact after joining Nordsjælland, after just a season he was already on the books of Premier League clubs.

In spite of that, Kudus decided to stay and in the process made 56 appearances for Nordsjaelland, scoring 14 goals.

After 3 years in Europe, It remains to be seen what the best position is for Kudus. According to Pedersen, Kudus’ best position is the right, making him the successor of Hakim Ziyech, who departed to Chelsea earlier this summer.

Nevertheless, Pedersen finds it difficult to compare Kudus with other football players.

“In football, after a first impression, you quickly compare a player with another player. I couldn’t do that with Mohammed. I had never seen such a type before,” the erstwhile trainer lauded his former pupil.

“When he dribbles, it seems as if the ball is part of his body. That may remind you of the Messi type, but Mohammed is also very strong physically. You can sit on its back, it won’t stop yet. That combination is unique,” he added.
