Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi has stated that his departure won’t be a problem for the Phobians as he believes there are numerous players who will be up to the task.

Kofi Kordzi has in recent days been in the news, the bulky center-forward is linked with a move to Qatari fold Al-Saliyia.

The Qatari side have already tabled a $150,000 bid, with the Phobians sending a counter-offer.

According to reports, the Phobians are open to selling the player and have requested for $200,000.

Reacting to the reports, the bulky striker has confirmed the interest and has stated his desire to leave 2001 CAF Champions league winners.

“Hearts management has not told me they will not permit me to leave the club for my new offer, the board is in constant negotiations with the agents,” he told Kumasi FM.

Kordzi believes his departure will give other players the opportunity to shine, stressing that there are numerous players in the club who will be up to the task.

“The Hearts team has been there since time immemorial, i have to leave to pave way for other players, it will be an opportunity to others when I leave. The current players can deliver the job more than some of us who are leaving.

He added: “I have been called into a meeting to talk about it on Thursday.”

Kordzi joined Hearts of Oak in 2019 from lower outfit Royal FC on a three-year deal after impressing the technical handlers during a short trial.

He has since become an integral member of the team, scoring six goals in 14 games in the 2019/2020 annulled Premier League season.
