Hearts of Oak sniff out three points, Legon Cities thump Eleven Wonders, AshantiGold record 3rd consecutive win: 2021/22 GPL Week 15 Results and Standings

Hearts of Oak defeated King Faisal 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to bounce back to winning ways and in the process keep their slim chance of winning the Premier League title alive.

After a cagey first 20 minutes, Hearts of Oak broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr picked up a loose ball at the edge of the box and fired a missile into the net.

Moments later, the Phobians came close to doubling their lead twice through Obeng Jnr. He first made a solo run into the box and tried to catch the goalkeeper at the far post, before heading a corner kick onto the top of the bar.

The second half of the game saw no goals but wasn’t short of chances. King Faisal missed good opportunities through Mawuli Wayo and Ibrabim Osman, whiles Hearts of Oak missed through Salim Adams and Kofi Kordzi.

Legon Cities recovered from last weekend’s defeat to Gold Stars with a 3-0 win against Eleven Wonders. Abdul Nassiru scored the opener in the 61st minute. Croster Obour made it 2-0 in the 81st minute before Jonah Attuquaye scored in the final minutes of the game to wrap up the win.

At the Len Clay Sports Stadium, AshantiGold defeated Dreams FC 2-1 to record their 3rd consecutive victory of the season. Yaw Annor scored both goals for the Miners, whiles Maxwell Arthur grabbed the consolation for Dreams from a free-kick.

Berekum Chelsea ended a run of 4 consecutive draws with a 3-1 win against Accra Lions at the Golden City Park. Henry Ainsu scored twice for Chelsea with Kelvin Obeng scoring the other. Fredrick Asante scored the face saving goal for Accra Lions.

At the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope, John Tedeku’s 1st minute strike earned WAFA a 1-0 victory against Bibiani Gold Stars.

Medeama defeated Elmina Sharks 1-0 to compound their miseries. Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah came from the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.

In Tamale, Real Tamale United (RTU) were held at home by Karela United. The home side raced into the lead on the stroke of halftime through Iddrisu Gadafi. Kelvin Andoh leveled the score for Karela in the 75th minute.

In other results, Frank Etouga scored twice to earn Asante Kotoko a 2-0 victory against Great Olympics. Samuel Osei Kuffour scored the only goal of the game to earn Bechem United a 1-0 victory against Aduana FC in Dormaa.
