Hearts of Oak midfield kingpin Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen undergoes successful surgery

Hearts of Oak midfielder Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen has successfully undergone a thigh surgery in South Africa.

Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen who hasn’t featured for the team since May this year due to a recurring thigh injury underwent the surgery at the Netcare Linksfield clinic in South Africa on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

The surgery was conducted by a team led by experienced surgeon, Dr. McCready. The doctor who operated on both Lawali and Daniel Kodie.

Abdul Aziz who has proved to be a key cog in the Hearts of Oak midfield when fit is expected to stay in South Africa for a while for his recuperation, after which he will return to Ghana to continue with his rehabilitation.

Prior to the surgery, Nurudeen as quoted by Hearts of Oak’s official website expressed his displeasure at the situation and his eagerness to recover.

“I am not happy to be sitting out of the games. That is what I am paid for. My desire is to always get onto the pitch and get the work done. But I also admit that injuries are a part of the game,” Aziz said has quoted by the team’s website.

“This is certainly good news for my career. Hopefully it will all go well and I will go through the process and get back stronger for my team and country.”

“I need the prayers of all Phobians. To the leaders of the team, most especially the Board Chairman, I say a big thank you for making sure that this has happened. I am most grateful to all. I pray God gives me the strength to be back stronger than I was so I can contribute positively to this team.

“To my team mates, I want to assure them that I truly acknowledge their support and assure them that hopefully I will join them soon. To the teaming fans, I will say “I will be back to support my team to win more laurels,” he added.

Until the injury, Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen was one of the key figures in the Hearts of Oak midfield, helping the team win the 2022 President Cup and FA Cup.
