Accra hearts of Oak head coach Kim Grant has found himself in hot waters. After being outclassed and defeated by bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the President cup, the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak and management have begun to question themselves whether Kim Grant is indeed the right man to lead this young, talented and angry Accra Hearts of Oak side forward.
There has also been question marks on the legitimacy of the former Charlton Athletic striker’s coaching license. It is reported that Kim grant has no CAF License A coaching certificate which is the requirement for coaches in the Premier league
After a board on Monday, the management of Accra Hearts of Oak asked Kim Grant to step aside as the director of football and head coach of the club due to his inability to provide his License A coaching certificate. Assistant manager Edward Nii Odoom has been promoted as interim coach of the club ahead of their league opener at home to Berekum Chelsea.
Accra hearts of oak is expected to soon officially announce the departure of Kim Grant. The club will hope to appoint a new manager in the coming days as they try to end their 10 years trophy. David Duncan is the leading candidate for the job.
