Hearts of Oak edge Na God in 5-goal thriller

Hearts of Oak defeated Division One side Na God FC 3-2 in a friendly encounter at the club’s training facility, Pobiman Sports Complex.

Head Coach of the team David Ocloo handed starting roles to Richard Attah, Kwabena Anane, Zakari Yakubu, Rashid Okine, Francis Adjetey, Gideon Asante, Faisal Adams, Suraj Siedu, Salifu Ibrahim, Appiah Clinton and Victor Aidoo.

The Phobians showed their superiority right from kickoff and went ahead inside the first 10 minutes, Suraj Seidu the scorer.

Hearts of Oak after going ahead continued to dominate the game and created chances but Na God defended gallantly to head into the break 1-0 down.

At the start of the second half, David Ocloo made changes to the team. Richmond Ayi, Samuel Inkoom, Zakari Yakubu, Francis Adjetey, Amankwah Baafi, Linda Mtange, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr, Victor Aidoo and Albert Dieudonne were selected for the half.

Hearts of Oak extended their lead through Linda Mtange, heading home a crossing from Amankwah Baafi. The Phobians were left stunned when Na God scored two fine goals to make it 2-2.

Later in the game, Linda Mtange scored his second of the day to steal a 3-2 win for the Phobians.

The friendly against the Division One Zone Three side forms part of the team’s preparations for the Gameweek 26 betPawa Premier League fixture against Nsoatreman at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 16.

Hearts of Oak are hoping to bounce back to winning ways after drawing scoreless in their previous league game against Dreams FC in Dawu.

The Phobians sit in fourth place on the league table with 39 points from 25 games, 5 points behind leaders Aduana.
