Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of Cameroonian forward Junior Kaaba, defender Zakari Yakubu and goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.

Junior Kaaba joins the Phobians on a 2-year deal from Cameroonian fold Fauve Azur Elite FC after successful negotiations and going through mandatory medicals.

“Junior Kaaba finally joins the Phobia family. He puts pen to paper after a successful medical. He signed a 2-year agreement with Accra Hearts of Oak and we are glad he will join the rest of the team as we prepare for the CAF competition and the GPL. The forward joined us from Fauvre FC,” said the club in a statement.

Kaaba who was a target for Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman before signing for Hearts of Oak scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 20 games last season, in the process helping Fauvre FC avoid relegation.

The 29-year old will be hoping to replicate compatriots Georges Mfegue Omgba and Franck Mbella Etouga who took the Ghana Premier League by storm after signing for Asante Kotoko last year.

Zakari Yakubu joins from Division One fold Swedru All Blacks. The young center-back joins on a 4-year deal after successful medicals with the club.

Eric Ofori Antwi also joins Hearts of Oak on a free transfer after ending his stay prematurely with Legon Cities. The former Black Satellites shot-stopper joins on a 3-year deal after successful medicals, rejoining his former coaches from Medeama.

The trio are expected to add quality to the Hearts of Oak side that has set sights on winning the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League and making an impact in the CAF Confederations Cup.
