Hearts of Oak announce sixth signing of the first transfer window of the 2023/24 season

Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of right-back Michael Ampadu on a free transfer.

The 25-year old joins the 2000 CAF Champions league winners on a 2-year deal after leaving Legon following the expiration of his contract with the club.

Michael Ampadu has been a household name in the betPawa Premier League since arriving on the scene at Liberty Professionals in 2016.

The industrious right-back represented the Scientific Soccer Lads for four seasons, before moving to Legon Cities in 2020, where he has risen his stock with flawless performances week in and week out.

At Legon Cities, Michael Ampadu made over 70 appearances in all competitions and help the team secure back to back 9th place finishes in the league. .

Michael Ampadu has represented Ghana with the Black Satellites (U-20), Black Meteors (U-23) and the Black Galaxies.

He was part of the team that qualified the Black Meteors to the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations and also part of the team that qualified the Black Galaxies to the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria.

However, he failed to make the squad for the two competitions.

The former Legon Cities defender becomes the 6th player to join the club in the ongoing transfer window after Raphael Amponsah, Evans Adomako and Martin Karikari from Asekem, Kelvin Osei Asibey from Eleven Wonders and Liventus Arthur from Tamale City.
