Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed center-back, Kelvin Osei Asibey as their first signing of the first transfer window of the 2023/24 football season.
The center-back joins Hearts of Oak from Access Bank Division One League side, Eleven Wonders on a three-year deal with an option for a one year extension.
Kelvin Osei Asibey joins the Phobians at the back of an inspiring season with Eleven Wonders in the Division One League, leading the team to the final of the Zone One playoff, where they missed out on a place in the Premier League after losing to Bofoakwa Tano on penalties.
The former captain of Eleven Wonders featured in 25 league games for the team in the 2022/23 Division One League season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. He as well won six man of the match awards, including in the playoff against Bofoakwa.
Speaking to Hearts to Oak’s official website after signing, the center-back disclosed his excitement on joining the club and his desire to help the team win laurels.
“I know the betpawa Premier League is tough because I have played in it before. It’s not easy for sure but I am confident that with the support of my new team mates and the technical team giving us the guidance not forgetting the fans, We can do good things here for this team. The platform is huge so we have to work extra hard to make the mark”.
Asibey who’s a leader and resolute in defense is expected to improve the Hearts of Oak defense that conceded 37 goals in 34 league games. The 22-year old is seen has the direct replacement for Robert Addo Sowah who left the team recently after seven years of service.
