A first half strike from Yussif Abdul Razak earned Great Olympics a 1-0 victory against bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak in the Mantse derby.
The first chance of the game fell to Hearts of Oak in the 8th minute, Obeng Jnr after a good run picked out Daniel Afriyie’s run with a good pass but goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku was quickly off his line to block his attempt. The rebound fell to Gladson Awako whose effort was blocked by Okoe Gripmann.
Great Olympics should have taken the lead in the 14th minute, Maxwell Abbey who was left unmarked in the post struck the post from close range.
Just minutes after Hearts of Oak missed a glorious chance through Obeng Jnr, Great Olympics broke the deadlock in the 30th minute through Yussif Abdul Razak from a good team move.
