Ghana Football Association (GFA) Medical Committee head Dr. Adam Baba has hinted that the government might rescind it decision to allow football fans into stadiums.
After seven weeks of Premier league action, the government last week eased the restriction which was imposed on football to be played behind closed doors as part of measures adopted by the government to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Following the significant progress made in combating the deadly virus, the restriction was eased and football fans were allowed into match centers in the past gameweek, the first time since March 2020.
However, GFA medical committee head, Dr. Adam Baba has in an interview with Kumasi FM divulged that government might rescind the decision because clubs are not adhering to the Covid-19 preventive protocols.
“I will be unsurprised if government rescind its decision to allow supporters to our various stadia because clubs are not adhering to the basic principles,” Dr. Adam Baba told Kumasi FM.
“A monitoring team has gone round and clubs are not complying to the Covid-19 protocols.
“The only option that’s applicable is reverting back to the empty stadium than halting football again,” he added.
