Mohammed Kudus is expected to make a quicker return from injury than expected, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
The youngster, who joined Ajax in the summer from Nordsjaelland suffered an injury to his meniscus in his right knee in October’s UEFA Champions League game against English Champions Liverpool.
The 20-year-old underwent a successful surgery and was ruled out for “several months”.
However, according to manager Erik ten Hag, Kudus has reached the crucial stage of recovery and would return to action again before the winter break.
“He is in his final phase of his rehabilitation,” Ajax Amsterdam trainer Erik ten Hag said after Saturday’s 4-0 victory against Zwolle.
“There is a chance that he will get into action quickly. We are certainly working towards that with him,” he added.
