Ghanaian trio, Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful and Emmanuel Boateng won the MLS cup with Columbus Crew after defeating Seattle Sounders 3-0 at the MAPFRE stadium on Saturday evening.
The Black and Gold became the 7th club to win the trophy more than once, joining the likes of D.C. United, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and Seattle Sounders.

Lucas Zelarayan opened the scoring for Columbus Crew in the 25th minute, he connected with a long cross from Harrison Afful at the back post to make it 1-0.
Six minutes later, Derrick Etienne made it 2-0. Etienne after being teed up by Lucas Zelarayan in the 18-yard box curled the ball past Stefan Frei.
Lucas Zelarayan scored again in 83rd minute to make 3-0 for Columbus Crew and hand them their second MLS trophy.
Jonathan Mensah in the process made history, becoming the first African to captain a MLS side to victory in the MLS Cup. He as well ended the season playing every single minute for Columbus Crew.
The 2021 MLS season is likely to commence in March.
