The group stage of 2020/21 UEFA Champions league kicked off yesterday, October 20, whiles the Europa league kicks off tomorrow, October 21.
Despite Covid-19, both competitions promises to be exciting this season, with some exciting games to come in the group stages including Barcelona meeting Juventus in the Champions league and Celtic playing Ac Milan in the Europa league.
But which Ghanaian players will be playing in the two prestigious European competitions this season?
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Majeed Ashimeru (Red Bull Salzburg)

Despite finishing first in the Austria Bundesliga, Red Bull Salzburg secured a place in the Group stages of the Uefa Champions league after beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 5-2 on aggregate in the 4th round of the qualifiers.
Salzburg have been drawn in Group A with 2020 winners Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Lokomotiv Moscow.
Mohammed Kudus (Ajax)

Kudus Mohammed’s Ajax secured a place in the group stages of the UEFA champions league after Bayern Munich defeated Lyon 3-0 in last season’s Champions league semi-final clash.
The results meant that Ajax, who were named champions of the Erevidisie after the 2019/20 league season was truncated due to the coronavirus pandemic and were to play in the qualifiers earned an automatic place in the Group stages.
The Dutch champion were drawn in group D with 2019 champions Liverpool, 2020 quarterfinalists Atalanta and Midtjylland.
Abraham Frimpong (Ferencvarosi)
Hungarian champions Ferencvarosi secured a place in the group stages of the 2020/21 Uefa Champions league for the first time since 1995/96 after sailing through all 4 qualifying rounds.
The Hungarian champions were drawn in Group G with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus, Lionel Messi’s Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv.
EUROPA LEAGUE
Thomas Partey (Arsenal)
Arsenal new signee Thomas Partey has been registered for the group stages of the 2020/21 Europa league. The Gunners secured a place in the competition after defeating Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup.
Arsenal were drawn in Group B with Rapid Vienna, Dundalk and Molde.
Ernest Asante (Omonia Nicosia)
Omonia Nicosia failed to reach the group stages of the UEFA champions league after losing to Olympiacos in the 4th round of the qualifiers.
The Cyprus club will now play in the Europa league and have been drawn in Group E with PAOK, PSV Eindhoven and Granada.
Kwabena Owusu (Qarabag)
Qarabag after failing to sealing a place in the group stages of the UEFA Champions league secured a place in the group stages of the Europa league after beating Legia Warszawa 3-0.
The Azerbaijan champions have been drawn in Group H with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Sivasspor and Villarreal.
Bernard Tekpetey and Elvis Manu (Ludogorets)
After falling from the UEFA Champions league qualifiers, Ludogorets secured a place in the Europa league after beating Dynamo Brest 2-0.
The Bulgarian champions have been drawn in Group J with Royal Antwerp, LASK Linz and Tottenham Hotspurs.
