Ghanaian international Bernard Mensah has signed for Saudi Arabian side Al-Tai on a permanent basis.
The 28-year old signed a two plus a year deal with his new club Al-Tai, where he’s expected to earn approximately 1.7 million euros per season.
Bernard Mensah joins the Saudi Arabian fold on a free transfer after refusing to renew his contract with Kayserispor at the end of the 2022/23 football season.
The Ghanaian who can play in a variety of midfield positions first arrived in Europe in 2012 with the reserve side of Vitória Guimarães from Ghanaian fold, Feyenoord now West African Football Academy.
Mensah impressed with the reserve team and was quickly promoted to the senior team, where he shone and secured a lucrative move to Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
At Madrid, Mensah failed to break into the senior team and was successfully loaned to Getafe, Vitória Guimarães, Kasimpasa and then Kayserispor, where he signed permanently in 2019.
Bernard Mensah stayed with Kayserispor for four seasons, while spending the 2020/2021 season on loan with giants Beşiktaş, where he helped them win the Turkish League and the Turkish Cup.
The Ghanaian during his time in Turkey with Kasimpasa, Kayserispor and Besiktas featured in 143 league games, scoring 24 goals and providing 23 assists.
Bernard Mensah who retired from the Ghana national team in 2021 has appeared in 5 games for the team, scoring on his debut against Togo in 2015.
The midfielder becomes the latest player to arrive in Saudi in the past year after the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino, Ngolo Kante, Ruben Neves and so on.
