Posted by Ghana have learnt their fate for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2023 qualifiers.
The Black Meteors are amongst 18 clubs exempted from participating in the first round of the qualifiers which will involve the 20 least ranked countries on the continent.
Ghana will kick start their campaign in the second round and will face the winner of the game between Mozambique and Mauritius.
Should the Black Meteors emerge victorious, they’ll advance to the final qualifying round where they’ll face the winner of Ethiopia/DR Congo vs Algeria.
The winner of the two-legged affair will qualify for the the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be played in Morocco next year.
The first round of the qualifiers are scheduled for September, 19 to 27. The second round October 21 to 30 and the third round March, 20 to 28, 2023.
The final tournament of the U-23 AFCON which will see 8 teams together with host nation Morocco compete will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris.
The Black Meteors missed out on the 2020 Olympics in Japan after finishing 4th at the U-23 AFCON in Egypt – 2019. Ghana is yet to play at the Olympic Games since 2004 in Greece.
