The Black Stars have a full house for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola.

RC Lens midfielder Abdul Samed Salis is latest to report to camp in Kumasi. The midfielder arrived earlier in the day and was involved in the team’s final training session this evening at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Per reports, Salis reported late to camp due to the delay of his fight from France to Ghana, by cause of issues relating to his traveling documents.

The arrival of the Lens midfielder means newly appointed Head Coach Chris Hughton has the services of all the players he called up, with the exception of Tariq Lamptey who pulled out of the qualifiers due to an injury and was replaced by Kingsley Schindler of FC Koln.

Meanwhile, Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu is likely to miss the first leg in Kumasi due to an injury, Chris Hughton has revealed.

Salisu had recently returned from the injury and saw 83 minutes of action for Southampton in their 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspurs at St. Mary’s over the weekend.

“Our only injury concern is Salisu; he’s a doubt for the game because he’s suffered some recent injuries at his club,” said Chris Hughton during the pre-match conference.

Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott who’s returning to the national team after missing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to a finger injury has been cleared to feature in the qualifiers.

The Charlton goalkeeper pulled out of training on Tuesday after a goalpost toppled over and fell on him during training on Tuesday night.

Initial fears were that Wollacott could miss the games scheduled for Thursday, March 23 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Monday, March 27, 2023 in Luanda.

However, those fears have been dumped after the goalkeeper featured in training with the rest of the team on Wednesday night.
