The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has been forced to make two changes to the men’s 4x100m relay team ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Ghana will be without two of the regular quintet of Benjamin Azamati, Sean Safo-Antwi, Joseph Paul Amoah, Joseph Manu and Emmanuel Yeboah for the competition scheduled for July 28 to August 8, 2022.
Joseph Manu and Emmanuel Yeboah have dropped out of the competition due to personal reasons and difficulties in securing a visa respectively.
Barnabas Kobby Asante Aggerh of the University for Development Studies (UDS), and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu of the University of Ghana (UG) will come in as replacements.
The duo were part of the Ghana 4x100m relay team that won a silver medal in the Invitational Relay competition held in Nigeria last month.
The Ghana 4x100m relay team is looking to win its gold medal in the relays after setting a national record of 38.07 seconds at the just ended World Athletics Champions.
