Ghana football was thrown in a state of dejection when the news came out that eight juvenile footballers playing for a team named African Vision FC and based in Offinso have lost their lives in a gory accident on the Kumasi-Offinso road.
The accident occurred on Saturday evening on the Offinso river when the bus carrying the Juvenile footballers was heading to Offinso from Afrancho after the juvenile footballers had undergone a registration for the District Juvenile League.
Eight of the juvenile footballers have been confirmed dead so far. Six others are currently in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, with the remaining twenty who sustained minor injuries treated and discharged from St. Patrick Hospital and Namong SDA Hospitals in Offinso.
In a swift intervention, GFA has sent a delegation to visit the injured and console the bereaved families. Other football clubs have also taken to social media to share their condolences:
