Former Ghana international, Mohammed Polo has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to recruit Asante Kotoko’s Frank Etouga for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.
Frank Etouga joined Asante Kotoko at the start of the ongoing season from Cameroonian fold AS Fortuna. The 20-year has been in fine form since for the Porcupine Warriors, scoring 19 goals in 28 games, the most this season.
Despite Etouga’s form, he’s yet to be recognized by the Cameroon national team. In an interview with Beach FM, Mohammed Polo who played for Hearts of Oak during his hay days urged the Ghana FA to take advantage of the situation and convince the player to play for Ghana.
“Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. He is African, he is playing in the Ghanaian league, he is playing the highest level of football and he is doing well,” Mohammed Polo said on Beach FM as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
“In his country, nobody saw him and if he’s come into our country and doing well in our league, it means we have given him the chance and so there’s nothing wrong with that,” he added.
Frank Etouga’s form has made him a transfer target for a number of European clubs.
