GFA set date for the Champions of Champions between Medeama and Dreams FC

betPawa Premier League Champions Medeama will battle with MTN FA Cup Champions Dreams FC in the 2023 Super Cup/Champions of Champions.

The Super Cup is a one off game between the League Champions and the FA Cup winners of the 2022/23 football season, according to Article 9 of the Premier League Regulation (PLR).

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has set aside Sunday, September 3, 2023 as the date for the game to be honored ahead of the 2023/2024 league season.

The venue for the game clash which will serve as curtain raiser for the new season will later be announced by the Ghana FA.

Last season, the Champions of Champions which was to be played between bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko failed to come on due to undisclosed reasons.

In the season before, Accra Hearts of Oak SC were automatically announced winners after annexing the Premier League and the FA Cup titles, exercising Article 9(3) of the Premier League Regulations.

Meanwhile, Medeama and Dreams will represent Ghana in the 2023/24 CAF Interclub competitions. Medeama will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and Dreams will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The two clubs will commence their respective CAF competitions in August 2023.
