The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has arrived at a decision to replace West African Football Academy (WAFA) in the 2023/24 Division One Zone Two (2) League.
Earlier this month, WAFA wrote to GFA to inform them of their decision to withdraw from the Access Bank Division One League to focus on youth football development in the Volta Region.
Per a statement from the Ghana FA, there shall be a play-off between three second placed clubs in the three Regional Second Division Leagues in Zone 2, with the winner replacing WAFA in next season’s Zone Two League.
The three second placed in the three Regional Second Division Leagues in Zone 2 are; Mahala Football Academy from Ashanti Region, Team Move FC from Western Region and Young Red Bull FC of Central Region.
The three teams will be involved in a three way league, with the winner replacing WAFA in the Division One Zone 2 League.
A letter has been sent to all concerned clubs by the Ghana FA to confirm their participation in the playoff by the close of Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Kindly take note that West Africa Football Academy has officially sent a written notification to the Ghana Football Association (GA) to inform the Association of the decision of the club to withdraw from the Access Bank Division One League to focus on youth football development in the Volta Region.
Subsequently, the Executive Council of GA has approved that a play off competition is organized among the iosing finalists of the Regional Middle League play offs in the following regions; Western RFA, Ashanti RFA and Central RFA.
The clubs are as follows;
1. Mahala Football Academy FC – Ashanti Region
2. Team Move FC – Western Region
3. Young Red Bull FC – Central Region.
The concerned clubs are to confirm their participation in writing to the GA by close of day Wednesday August 9, 2023.
