The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released the final league table for the 2022/23 Division One League season
In Zone One, Bofoakwa Tano who emerged as winners in Zone One B defeated Zone One A champions, Eleven Wonders 7-6 on penalties after 1-1 draw to secure qualification to the betPawa Premier League.
The two teams faced off in a playoff due to the division of the zone into two zones. The Zone was divided due to the lack of resources in the Zone and the seeming tension and violence that have characterized the Zone in the last couple of seasons.
Four teams were relegated from the zone to the Division Two League, with 2 each coming from Zone One A and One B. The relegated teams include; Kassena Nan-kana and Kumbung Bibiem FC from Zone One A, Berekum Arsenal and Unity FC were relegated from Zone One B.
In Zone Two, Nations FC emerged as champions, beating Skyy FC in a keenly contested race. The Abrankese-based side finished the season with 72 points, nine points more than second placed Skyy FC.
Kenpong Academy, Asokwa Deportivo and Pacific Heroes were relegated from the zone.
In Zone Three, Heart of Lions secured promotion to the betPawa Premier League with 6 games to end the season, returning to the elite league since suffering relegation in 2014/15.
Lions finished the season with 66 points, 16 more than second placed Koforidua Semper FI and 20 more points than third placed Vision FC.
A5 Rences FC, Tudu Mighty Jets and Tema Youth have been relegated to the Division Two league after finishing 14th, 15th and 16th on the League log.
