GFA release final league table for 2021/22 Division One League; ten (10) teams relegated

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released the final league table for the 2021/22 Division One League season

In Zone One, Nsoatreman defeated Tamale City 2-1 in a playoff at the Accra Sports Stadium to secure qualification to the Premier League.

A playoff was scheduled between the two teams after they finished the regular season with 74 points and were even on head to head after winning 1-0 at their respective home grounds.

Four teams were relegated to the Division Two League. The teams include; Dreams Tamale SC, Kintampo FC, Unity FC and Bolga All Stars.

The number of relegated clubs increased from three to four because Techiman Eleven Wonders have been relegated from the Premier League and would play in Zone One next season.

In Zone Two, Samartex 1996 secured promotion to the Division One League after topping the league table with 68 points, 12 points more than 2nd placed Ebusua Dwarfs and 22 points more than 3rd placed Nzema Kotoko.

Due to the relegation of Elmina Sharks and WAFA who would play in Zone Two next season, four clubs namely; Wassaman United, Sekondi Hasaacas, Unistar Academy and Achiken FC were relegated.

In Zone Three, Kotoku Royals secured promotion to the topflight league on the final day of the season. They finished the season with 63 points, just a point more than 2nd placed Liberty Professionals.

Two Clubs, namely, Kwaebibirem United and Accra Young Wise FC suffered relegation to the third tier after finishing 15th and 16th in the League table.

Only two clubs got relegated from Zone Three because no club from the Zone dropped from the Premier League.
