GFA makes stupendous upgrade in Prize money for upcoming betPawa Premier League season

President of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Kurt Okraku, has revealed a new structure in prize money for the 2023/24 betPawa Ghana Premier League.

Kurt Okraku made this known during the official launching of the upcoming betPawa Premier League season at the Eastern Premier Hotel in Koforidia.

The new prize money will see the first to tenth placed teams on the betPawa Premier League table receive financial reward.

The winner of the Premier League winner will take home a trophy, 40 gold medals and a cash prize of GH¢ 500,000, denoting 67% increment from the previous season.

Second placed team will receive 40 silver medals and a cash prize of GH¢ 200,000. Third placed team will take home 40 bronze medals and GH¢ 100,000.

Fourth placed will receive GH¢ 80,000, fifth placed GH¢ 70,000, sixth GH¢ 60,000, seventh GH¢ 50,000, eighth GH¢ 40,000, ninth GH¢ 30,000 and tenth GH¢ 20,000.

Per the FA President, the new structure for the prize money is part of measures to improve the competitiveness of the league.

“To increase the competitiveness of the league, the Ghana Football Association will reward from the first to the 10th place in the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League season is set to kick start on Friday, September 15, 2023.
