The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is in hunt for a new Head Coach for the Black Stars following the sacking of Milovan Rajevac after Ghana’s horrible display at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon

The search for the new Head Coach has proved difficult than expected as the FA and the Government of the country are embroiled over who the new Head Coach should be.

The Ghana FA is pushing for Otto Addo and Ibrahim Tanko to occupy the Head Coach and Assistant Coach role respectively, whiles the government is pushing for former Newcastle boss, Chris Hughton to occupy the managerial role.

President of the Ghana FA, Kurt Okraku is currently in Germany with two other people reported to be the Technical Director of the FA, Bernhard Lippert and erstwhile Eintracht Frankfurt defender Tony Baffour to convince Otto Addo who’s currently the Assistant manager of Borussia Dortmund to take the job.

Kurt Okraku, Tony Yeboah and Otto Addo were spotted yesterday at a train station in Germany.

Chris Hughton arrived in Ghana on Friday and has already had discussions with the government. The 63-year old has already shifted into gear as he tries to lure Chelsea star, Callum Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana. Per reports, Odoi has agreed to play for Ghana if Hughton is named new Head Coach.

Despite the pressure from the government, the FA is reluctant on appointing Hughton as Head Coach and are firmed on appointing Otto Addo and Ibrabim Tanko.

Per a report from Muftawu Nabila, Otto Addo has agreed to take the Black Stars job. However, GFA will now need to convince Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, another report indicates that Chris Hughton met President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo on Tuesday and has assurances for the job.

The FA is running against time to appoint a new Head Coach of the Black Stars for March’s FIFA World Cup playoff against Nigeria.
