The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the second round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will kick start on the weekend of February 25-28 across the various League Centres.
The first round of the season will come to an end on Sunday, February 20 when defending champions, Hearts of Oak host league leaders, Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in an outstanding match-week 7 fixture.
The game was initially scheduled to take place in December 2021 but was postponed due to the Phobian’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Irrespective of the results on Sunday, Asante Kotoko will stay top of the table. As it stands, the Porcupine Warriors have amassed 36 points, 6 points ahead of second placed Bechem United and 12 more than rivals Hearts of Oak who sit in 8th place after 16 matches.
The opening games of the second round will see Hearts of Oak trek to El-Wak to play Legon Cities, Asante Kotoko will host Dreams FC, AshantiGold travel to the West to face Karela United and so on.
The on-going season which began on Friday, October 29 is expected to end on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
