The Ga Mantse Cup between sworn rivals Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics has been postponed.
The game was initially slated for Sunday, August 7 at the Accra Sports Stadium but has now been postponed to Sunday, August 28 at the same venue.
The game was postponed after Hearts of Oak wrote to the organizers requesting for time to prepare adequately, Mr. William Ezear of Primeval Consult confirmed to Happy FM.
“We received a letter from Hearts of Oak stating that the team is not ready to honor the game on Sunday because their team isnt ready and they just started preseason.
“They want the game to be played on August 28. We are yet to meet the stakeholders and see the way forward,” Mr. William Ezear said in an interview on Wamputu Sports.
The Ga Mantse Cup is a special football match designed to honour King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and forms part of the Homowo celebration.
