Kudus’ move to Ajax doesn’t only draw a big smile on the face of his mum, he has sent the whole Nima community into a frenzy.
He becomes the second native from the community to earn such stardom, emulating 1978 African Cup of Nations winner (AFCON), Mohammed Polo, popularly known as the “dribbling magic”.
While putting pen to paper on the Ajax contract, the burgeoning midfielder wore a shirt with a bold inscription ‘Nima Native’.
The KudusDream started at the defunct Dynamic Heroes in Nima. He later joined Right to Dreams academy, before securing a move abroad to play for Danish side Nordsjaelland.
The youngster was handed his Nordsjaelland debut just shortly after his 18th birthday, he featured in 56 official matches and in the process scored 14 times.
Kudus’ scintillating performance week in and week out for Nordsjaelland earned him a national team call-up. He scored on his debut in a African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa in November.
He also earned a place on the transfer list of the likes of Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, Ac Milan, Inter Milan, Marseille etc. But the Nima native opted for a move to Netherlands to join 2019 Uefa Champions league semifinalists Ajax.
He will wear the jersey number 20 at Ajax, where he is expected to replace Hakim Ziyech who departed to Chelsea in the summer.
Kudus Mohammed, who has been shortlisted for the 2020 Golden Boy Award has the support of the entire Nima community and the entire country to go on and do great.
