Recently relegated Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf have seen their preparations for life in Bundesliga 2 hampered after the club confirmed that two players have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to German tabloid Bild, Ghanaian winger Nana Ampomah and his teammate Dawid Kownacki were the duo who tested positive for the virus.
The 24-year-old winger also confirmed the news to footballmadeinghana.com.
“Yes it’s true I have tested positive and I am currently quarantined,” Nana told footballmadeinghana.com.
The entire Fortuna Düsseldorf team including technical members have been quarantined for two weeks, this is because both players who tested positive had participated in the team’s training and in their 5-0 exhibition match win against Meerbusch.
Nana Ampomah joined Fortuna Düsseldorf from Belgian club Waasland Beveren last summer.
