American outfit New York Red Bulls have confirmed the acquisition of Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Tetteh from Red Bull Salzburg.

The 23-year-old has signed a year-and-a-half long loan deal with the team and is expected to make an impact when the MLS season begins later this year.

“Samuel is a very interesting attacking player. He’s intelligent, he can create on his own and can stretch back lines with his speed. We know that Samuel has big potential and we are excited to get to work with him”, New York Red Bulls Head Coach Chris Armas told the club’s website during Samuel Tetteh’s unveiling.

Samuel Tetteh previously played for WAFA in Ghana, before earning a move to Austria to play for Liefering, a feeder club for Austrian giants Salzburg.

Due to his impressive displays for FC Liefering, Tetteh in January 2017 was promoted into the FC Red Bull Salzburg squad.

The former WAFA midfielder was in January 2018 loaned out to fellow Austrian club LASK Linz for one and half season.

Tetteh has made 8 appearances for Ghana Black Stars.
