Former Head Coach of the South Africa national team, Steve Komphela has lauded the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for securing a lucrative sponsorship deal for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup to be played in Qatar.
The Ghana FA on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at its head quarters announced a one-year deal with Ghana’s leading Telecommunications network MTN as sponsors of the Black Stars.
The deal which takes immediate effect is worth $2M and would run until January 2024.
Reacting to the development, former Head Coach of the South Africa national team, Steve Komphela described it as great news. He as well wished the Black Stars the very best in their upcoming World Cup campaign.

Ghana have been pitted in Group H of the group stages alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
The Black Stars will start their campaign against Portugal on Thursday, November 24, before playing Uruguay on Monday, November 28 and South Korea on Friday, December 2.
