Former Dreams FC skipper Michael Agbekpornu has signed for Croatian topflight fold Slaven Belupo on permanent basis.
Michael Agbekpornu joins on a three-year contract from Albanian Super league side FK Egnatia for an undisclosed fee .

“Michael Agbekpornu is the new player for Slaven Belupo. Ghanaian midfielder born on the 31st August of 1998. He signed a three-year contract with our club and joined the trainings of coach Ricardo Moniz,” a statement from the Croatian side read.
“To our club comes from Egnatija, the third-placed team of the Albanian Super League, for which he entered 26 appearances last season. In his career, he defended the colors of the Ghanaian Dreams, and it should be noted that he was also a U-23 representative of his country. His primary position on the field is the position of the defensive midfielder, but it can also cover the position of the stopper,” the statement added.

Speaking after sealing the move, Michael revealed that it is a step forward in his career and vowed to give his all to his new club.
“I took a step forward in my career and look at Slaven Belupo as a great ‘stepping stone’ for the future. I know how strong the Croatian league is and how much work awaits us, but I believe that my new teammates and I can achieve the set goals,” he told the club’s website.
“What I can promise is that you will see me give my all 90 minutes, and hope quality presentations come from it. I am looking forward to the start of the championship and I can’t wait for it to come together – he added.
Slaven Belupo finished in 8th place in last season’s Crotia topflight league and will be hoping the arrival of Micheal Agbekpornu will help them improve that.
