Former Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has advised the club’s Cameroonian duo, Frank Mbella and George Mfegue to stay longer at the club and shouldn’t allow fraudulent football agents mislead them.
Frank Mbella and George Mfegue have been in fantastic form for Asante Kotoko since joining at the start of the 2021/22 football season from Cameroonian sides AS Fortuna and Avion FC respectively.
Mbella, who per reports is attracting interest from French giants Stade Rennes is currently the top scorer in the ongoing Premier league season with 11 goals from 12 league, including 2 hat-tricks. George Mfegue on the other hand has scored 4 goals from 12 games.
Reacting to the performance of the duo, Ahmed Toure has advised them to stay focused and patient with the club and not allow fraudulent football agents mislead them.
“I will advise Mbella and Mfegue to be patient because playing for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is lucrative,” Toure said in an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“You can get a whole lot from the supporters. They should not be deceived by agents who will promise to take them for greener pastures elsewhere.
“They should be focused. The circumstances of Yacouba’s exit was not the best.” They should remain focused.
Ahmed Toure has played for Asante Kotoko on three different occasions (2007-2008, 2011-2012, 2014-2016). There Burkinabe international won three league titles with the club and a FA club trophy. He was named Premier League player of the year in the 2011/12 season.
