Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that midfielder Thomas Partey is highly likely to stay at Arsenal beyond the 2023 summer transfer window.

Thomas Partey who has two more years left on his current Arsenal contract has become a subject of transfer since the opening of the current transfer window.

Per reports, Partey was heavily monitored by Juventus, Monaco and a number of Saudi Arabian clubs. However, Fabrizio Romano has said that he’s likely to remain at Arsenal, adding that he will only leave if a club is willing to pay €40m-€45m as transfer fee.

“They were open to letting him go, but only in the case of a big proposal. At the moment, they have been approached by Saudi clubs, but not reaching the €40m-€45m they wanted for Thomas Partey,” Fabrizio said on YouTube.

“Also, Juventus three weeks ago asked for Thomas, but they don’t want to pay that money.

“At the moment, the feeling internally at the club is that Thomas Partey has very good chances to stay at Arsenal and to continue at Arsenal because no one is putting on the table €40m to €45m.

“So very good chances for Thomas to stay and it means Arsenal have gone quiet on Romeo Lavia,” he added.

In a recent interview, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta divulged that he doesn’t expect the Ghanaian to depart the club.

“No. Every time I spoke to him his will is to stay with us. For me there’s nothing there at all,” Mikel Arteta told the media last week ahead of a friendly game against Manchester United in America.

When quizzed if Partey is in his plans, he said: “Without a question of a doubt. Thomas is a super important player for us and for me. I want him to be part of the team.”

Partey joined Arsenal for €50m in October 2020 from Atletico Madrid, where he had made 188 appearances over five years with the La Liga side.

The Ghanaian since arriving at Arsenal has been an integral member of the team, appearing in 99 games for the team in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
