Football mourns Jerry John Rawlings

The football world was thrown into a state of shock and sorrow following the death of former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, who passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 after a brief illness.

According to state-owned Daily Graphic, the former President had been on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for about a week for an undisclosed ailment. He was 73.

Rawlings might be seen as a political figure by numerous people, but it is a thing to note that he was the brain behind Ghana’s 1982 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) triumph in Libya.

Since his death, several football clubs and football persons have been commiserating and eulogising the him.
