The Black Princesses (U-20) defeated Uganda 5-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium to progress to the final qualifying round of the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup to be staged in Costa Rica.
Having won the first leg 2-1 in Uganda, Ghana came into the game with a slight advantage and were hoping to build on it. The team wasted no time in doing so as they took the lead in the 22nd minute through Evelyn Badu.
Few minutes later, the Black Princess extended their lead, Salamatu Abdulai scored to make it 2-0.
In the second half, the Black Princesses continued to maraud pressure on Uganda and scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game through Rahama Jafaru and a brace from Doris Boaduwaa.
The game ended 5-0 and 7-1 on aggregate. The Black Princesses secure a place in the final qualifying round and will face Ethiopia for one of two slots available for Africa at next year’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
