With less than 11 days for the 2022 World Cup to kickoff in Qatar, Ghana are left sweating over the fitness of midfielder Baba Iddrisu.
The hardworking midfielder was handed a starting role for Real Mallorca in their 1-0 victory against Atletico Madrid at the Estadi de Son Moix. However, he was unable to finish the game as he was subbed off at halftime due to an injury.
Iddrisu was captured on camera walking into the dressing room at the halftime break in discomfort, a worrying situation for Otto Addo who’s expected to name his final squad for the World Cup in the coming days.
Ghana would hope the injury isn’t serious and won’t rule Baba out of the World Cup which will see them play Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in the group stages.
Baba Iddrisu has been an influential figure for the Black Stars since making his debut for the team in November 2019, playing an integral role in the team’s qualification to the World Cup.
