Switzerland fold, FC Basel have decided against signing Ghanaian center-back Kasim Nuhu Adams permanently following the expiration of his loan deal with the club.
Kasim Adams joined FC Basel from German club, Hoffenheim on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of last season. The Ghanaian enjoyed a fruitful season with the club, making 42 appearances for the team in all competitions and scoring 3 goals.
Despite the successful loan spell that saw Kasim Adams become a fan favorite, FC Basel has opted not to sign him on permanent basis.
The Swiss club had an option to sign Adams permanently, but decided not to exercise the option, confirming his departure from the club together with Darian Males and Andi Zeqiri.
“FC Basel 1893 will not be exercising the purchase option for our three loan players, Darian Males, Andi Zeqiri & Kasim Adams. All three leave the club this summer,” said the club in a social media post.
“We would like to thank Darian, Andi & Kasim and wish them well,” the statement added.
Kasim Adams will now return to his parent club TSG Hoffenheim, where he will be hoping to convince the technical team and cement a place in the team’s first eleven.
