EXCLUSIVE: Hearts of Oak to appoint Kosta Papic as new manager

Accra Hearts of Oak are expected to announce Serbian manager Kosta Papic as new manager in the coming days, a close source to the club confirmed.

The 60-year-old arrived in Ghana few days ago and was spotted at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday with club CEO Sowah Odotei ahead of the game against Inter Allies.

Kosta Papic managed Hearts of Oak in the 2008/09 season, which was when the club last won a league title. He left the club on mutual consent after leading with 10 points and 7 games to finish the season due to what he termed managerial interference.

The experienced gaffer has been without a club since leaving eSwatini national team in December 2019.

Papic will replace Edward Nii Odoom who will go back to managing the club’s junior side, Auroras. He will be assisted by Asare Bediako.

Kosta Papic comes in with lots of experience having managed a plethora of teams on the African continent. The likes of Enyimba, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Young Africans and many others.
