Bechem United goalkeeper Abdulai Iddrisu has left the Black Galaxies camp in Cairo to seal a move with Tanzanian Premier League side, Azam FC, MahamaShaibu.com can exclusively report.
Abdulai Iddrisu left Cairo, where the Black Galaxies are wrapping up preparations for the Championship of African to Nations (CHAN) to Tanzania earlier today to wrap up a lucrative deal with Azam.
The Bechem United goalkeeper who finished last season as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Ghana Premier League (17) is expected to sign a three year contract with Azam and will be part of the team that will take part in the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.
The development means Abdulai Iddrisu will be ineligible to represent Ghana at the CHAN tournament scheduled to place in Algeria from Friday, January 13 to Saturday, February 4, 2023.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to announce a replacement for the goalkeeper in the competition that will see Ghana face Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco in the group stages.
The Black Galaxies will kick start their campaign against Madagascar on Sunday, January 15, before playing Sudan on Thursday, January 19 and then Morocco on Monday, January 23.
