Ghana Premier League holders Asante Kotoko have officially written to Legon Cities for the services of right-back Michael Ampadu, MahamaShaibu.com can exclusively report.
The Porcupine Warriors have identified the 25-year old as replacement for Christopher Netty and want to sign him before the close of the ongoing transfer window.

Despite Ampadu having just 6 months left on his contract with Legon Cities, the club is reluctant to lose the right-back as they see him to be crucial in their pursuit for a top four finish.
The 25-year old is also liked by the high hierarchy of Hearts of Oak, but the Phobians are not expected to make a move for him having secured the service of young right-back Kwabena Anane from Golden Kicks.
Michael Ampadu has been a household name in the betPawa Premier League since arriving on the scene at Liberty Professionals in 2016.
The industrious right-back represented the Scientific Soccer Lads for four seasons, before moving to Legon Cities in 2020, where he has risen his stock with flawless performances week in and week out.

Ampadu has represented Ghana with the Black Satellites (U-20), Black Meteors (U-23) and the Black Galaxies.
He was part of the team that qualified the Black Meteors to the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations and also part of the team that qualified the Black Galaxies to the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria.
However, he failed to make the squad for the two competitions.
