A second half strike from Evelyn Badu earned the Black Queens a 1-0 win against the Lioness of Senegal in a friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Queens headed into the game hoping to build on last Saturday’s 3-0 victory against Senegalese team. However, they failed to do so in the first 45 minutes.

The half ended scoreless and saw fewer attacking threats from the Ghana team. Senegal were resolute especially in defense where they dealt with every attack from the Black Queens,

The opening minutes of the second half continued just like the first. Senegal continued to nullify Ghana’s attacking prowess and created some half chances but failed to take those chances.

Ghana started to grow into the game and broke the deadlock in the 84th minute, Evelyn Badu hammered in a shot from inside the box after she was set up by Adama Alhassan.

The Black Queens in the remaining minutes managed the game to win 1-0, picking their 3rd win under Nora Hauptle.

The game against Senegal forms part of the team’s preparations for the 2023 WAFU B Cup of Nations and qualifiers for the African Women’s Cup of Nations in 2024.
