Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Gyasi on Thursday evening powered Spezia to the Seria A for the first time in their history after overseeing Frosinone in the playoff final.
Spezia earned a playoff spot after finishing 3rd in the league. The Eagles defeated Chievo Verona in the semifinal. The tie ended 3-3 on aggregate but earned a spot in the final to play Frosinone due to their higher finish in the domestic league.
Spezia in the first leg of the playoffs final won 1-0 away from home, with Emmanuel Gyasi grabbing the goal.
The second leg which was played this evening ended 1-0 in favor of Frosinone. Emmanuel Gyasi lasted 73 minutes on the field.
With the aggregate scoreline tied at 1-1, Spezia earned promotion due to their higher finish in the domestic.
Spezia will be playing in the Seria A when the new season begins, the first time in their history.
Emmanuel Gyasi featured in 36 league games for Spezia in Seria B this season, he scored 9 times and provided 3 assists.
The Ghanaian-Italian football player is yet to earn a national team call up. He will hope do to so when the 2022 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers commences in November.
