Emmanuel Gyamfi banned and slapped with a fine by the Ghana FA over unsporting behavior against Asante Kotoko

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has banned Aduana Stars forward Emmanuel Gyamfi for a misconduct in the betPawa Premier League Matchday 10 game against Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu I park.

Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 31st minute of the game which ended scoreless was caught on camera stamping on Asante Kotoko’s goalkeeper, Fredrick Asare.

The former Asante Kotoko player went unpunished as the incident happened on the blind side of the referees. However, he was later charged by the Ghana FA for breaching Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code. 2019.

In his defence to the charge, Emmanuel Gyamfi pleaded guilty and said that his action was in response to a stamp on his ankle by Fredrick Asare, an action he felt could endanger his career.

Emmanuel Gyamfi was found guilty of the charge by the Committee and was fined GHc 2,000 in accordance with Article 6.1(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

He was also slapped with a five-match ban and warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment.

Meanwhile, the player has been cleared innocent of assaulting Justice Blay in the same game.
