A late free kick from Emmanuel Clottey denied Asante Kotoko their first win of the season.
The Porcupine Warriors went to the Golden City park hoping they can fetch their first win of the season, whiles Berekum Chelsea were hoping they can continue their impressive form against the Reds in Berekum.
Berekum Chelsea named a lineup similar to the one they named against Legon Cities a week ago, Maxwell Konadu also made slight changes to his team, Christopher Netty, Habib Mohammed, Ibrahim Osman and Godfred Asiamah were handed starts.


Asante Kotoko started the game much better than they did last weekend. The Porcupine Warriors went close to opening the scoring in the 15th minute, Kwame Opoku’s effort was smartly kept out by goalkeeper Sammy Adjei.
The pressure finally paid off in the 18th minute, Kotoko took the lead through Kwame Opoku from close range, the center forward was assisted by striking partner Ibrahim Osman.
Kotoko nearly made it 2 in the 31st minute, Kwame Opoku failed to connect with the ball well after a good cross by Emmanuel Gyamfi, he headed the ball wide.
Berekum Chelsea dominated the final 15 minutes of the came and nearly pulled parity in the 42nd, a good effort from Hamza Gonji was splendidly kept out by Felix Annan.
The first ended 1-0.
Berekum Chelsea started the second half like they finished the first, seeing more of the ball but failing to get the ball into good areas.
The home side came close to pulling parity in the 76th minute, a decent free kick from Emmanuel Clottey was pushed away by Felix Annan.
Chelsea came close again in the 84th minute, Habib Mohammed made a goal line clearance after Felix Annan failed to grab an air ball. The situation left Felix injured and was replaced by Kwame Baah.
The home team kept pushing and finally grabbed the equalizing goal in additional time, Emmanuel Clottey powered a beautiful free kick past the helpless Kwame Baah.
The game ended 1-1. Kotoko’s winless run at the Berekum Golden City park continues.
