The 2022/23 Ghana football season will officially kickoff with the betPawa Ghana Premier League on Friday, September 9, 2022 but before that, they are numerous off-season competitions to watch out for.
The Division One League Super Cup which is specially created for the best performing clubs in the Division One League, that is the winners of each zone, second placed teams in each zone and two of the third best placed teams will kick off on Tuesday, August 16 by will run till Sunday, August 28.
The competition this year which will be only the second edition will be contested by Nsoatreman FC, FC Samartex 1996, Kotoku Royals, Liberty Professionals, Tamale City, Ebusua Dwarfs, Tema Youth and Young Apostles FC.
Kyebi Astro Turf and Dawu Theatre of Dreams in the Eastern Region will host the games.
The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top Six will kickoff on Wednesday, August 17 and will be played till Sunday, August 28.
Medeama, Bechem United, Karela United, Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea will compete for the ultimate.
The Men’s Super Cup between the winners of the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko and winners of the MTN FA Cup, Accra Hearts of Oak will come off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The final elite off-season competition is the Women’s Super Cup which will be played from Friday, October, 7 to Monday, October 17 in the Northern Region.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Pearlpia Ladies, Dreams Ladies, Fabulous Ladies, Hasaacas Ladies, Faith Ladies, Police Ladies and Ladystrikers Ladies will compete in the competition.
