Ghana’s 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup representatives, Dreams FC defeated Greater Accra-based Division Two side, Crimson FC 3-0 in a friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Still Believe side dominated the first 45 minutes of the game and went into the recess a goal up, courtesy a John Antwi strike.
In the second half, Dreams scored two more goals to make it 3-0. John Antwi scored from a spot-kick in the opening minutes of the half, before Abdul Aziz Issah scored later on from a similar situation to make it 3-0.
Dreams FC arranged the friendly game as part of their preparations for the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round game against Guinean fold Milo FC De Kankan.
The first leg between the two teams ended 1-1 and the second leg is scheduled for Sunday, August 27 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Dreams need at least a scoreless draw on Sunday to progress to the final qualifying round.
Should Dreams advance to the round, they’ll come up against Liberia’s Kallon FC who secured a place in the round following the withdrawal of AS Douanes of Niger due to the closure of the country’s Air and land borders amid the current political unrest in the West African country.
The final qualifying round games are scheduled for September 15-17 and September 29 to October 1. Winner will earn a historic place in the Group stages of the Confederation Cup.
