Dreams caught dreaming at the Theatre of Dreams as they are pinched by the Porcupine Warriors

Dreams FC welcomed Asante Kotoko to the Theatre of Dreams as they hope to hurt the Porcupine warriors and record consecutive victories. Kotoko were also coming into the game at the back of two draws.

The game started at a steady pace, both teams were being cautious and taking time to settle into the game.

The first big chance of the game fell to Richard Addae in the 18th minute. Kwame Otu after a quick corner sent in a beautiful cross, Richard Addae connected with the ball but he couldn’t keep his effort down.

There was penalty appeal from the Asante Kotoko players in the 20th minute, Imoro Ibrahim’s cross was allegedly handled in the box. Referee waved play on.

Dantani Amadu picked up the first yellow card of the game in the 27th minute after a silly foul on Justice Blay. Dantani went on to pick another yellow in the 36th minute for handling the ball just outside the penalty box, he was shown the red card. A man advantage to Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko begun to mount pressure on Dreams. Martin Antwi nearly opened the scoring before the break, his shot from outside the box struck the upright.

Referee brought the first half to an end after 2 minutes of time added on.

Dreams were hoping to balance the midfield that collapsed just before the break, manager took off Richard Addae and brought on Maxwell Arthur.

Dreams in the second half started to pass the ball around, hoping to find a break through and prevent Asante Kotoko from getting into their half. Abdul Bashir nearly gave them a surprise lead in the 65th minute, he went past 5 Kotoko players, but couldn’t round the beautiful moment with a goal, his short was off target.

The first goal of the game came in the 68th minute, Abdul Bashiru put the ball in his own net, he failed to clear a freekick from Imoro Ibrahim. 1-0 to Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko nearly made it 2 in the 76th minute, Opoku Mensah fed on a through pass from Richard Arthur, he went round the goalkeeper, but his final effort was cleared off the goal line for a corner kick. The resulting corner kick was wasted.

There wasn’t many moments from then to change the score line, the referee after 4 minutes of time added on brought the game to an end. Dreams FC lose 1-0 at home to another giant.
