Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will know their opponents for the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup on Monday, August 8, 2022.
The two most successful clubs in Ghana will be representing the country in the two prestigious continental competitions as winners of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup.
Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League as winners of the Premier League, while Hearts of Oak will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup as winners of the MTN FA Cup.
The two clubs will know their fate for the preliminary round of the two competitions in a draw to be held on Monday, 08 August 2022 in Cairo, Egypt at 3:00pm GMT.
The two competitions will begin on 9 September 2022 with the first round of the preliminaries. The group stages scheduled to begin in February 2023.
This will be the first time the two clubs will together present Ghana in the CAF Interclub competitions since 2015 when Asante Kotoko featured in the Champions League and bowed out in the first round of the qualifying round and Hearts of Oak played in the Confederations Cup and bowed out in the final qualifying round.
Preliminary rounds’ dates:
First Round (Home/Away): 09 – 11 September/ 16 – 18 September 2022
Second Round (Home/Away): 07 – 9 October / 14 – 16 October 2022
Second Additional Round – CAF Confederation Cup (Home/Away): 2 November/ 9 November 2022
